What is a prayer blanket?

Prayer blankets are a gift that many ministries and Christian communities use to comfort believers going through a difficult time.

If a loved one is in the hospital, grieving a loss, feeling down, etc., the community/community member will purchase a Christian blanket and pray over the blanket—that it will be a comfort to the individual. Ultimately, it is the prayer alone that is special here, however the blanket can serve as a tangible comfort and reminder that they are not fighting their battle alone.

The prayer blanket can also be tailored to what the individual is enduring. For example, pink for someone embarking on a chemo journey against breast cancer or gray for someone grieving the loss of a loved one. Prayer blankets are even more intentional when they include Bible scripture.
